Karen’s our team’s dispatcher and “external hard-drive”. She readily applies her disciplines in permaculture, ecological design and biological systems assessment in her roles as the Project Coordinator for Restoration Agriculture Development and Division Manager of Forest Agriculture Nursery. She also networks with organizations whose missions are also based in ecological restoration, sustainable systems designs, strengthening regional economies, and preparing communities for climate change. She taught ecological landscape design illustration and botanical identification as well as co-designed and installed Naperville IL’s first demonstration edible forest garden at The Resiliency Institute. When she’s not traveling to organize events and implement ecological design systems, Karen can be found on her farm in the Ozark Mountains, living and breathing the ways of restoration agriculture. Karen’s hobbies are growing perennial foods and spices, mushroom foraging, creating art from natural mediums, immersing in the outdoors, and spending time with her rescue pets.
